TripleCare’s Services across Ocean Healthcare Network Facilities Recognized in McKnight’s 2018 Excellence in Technology Awards
Ocean Healthcare Network Wins Silver in Innovator of the Year Category for its Use of TripleCare’s Telemedicine Services
NEW YORK – October 15, 2018 –(BUSINESS WIRE)–TripleCare, a national provider of telemedicine-based healthcare to the post-acute care sector, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), announced today the Company and its work with partner Ocean Healthcare Network, a network of family owned and operated N.J.-based healthcare centers, was named a Silver winner in the Innovator of the Year category of the 2018 McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards.
Ocean Healthcare’s use of TripleCare’s telemedicine services was recognized by McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, the pre-eminent national magazine for long-term caregiving professionals, especially those in skilled nursing, and sponsor of this awards program. McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards celebrates the continued rise of technological innovation in eldercare.
Ocean Healthcare was acknowledged based on the significant reduction in emergency room visits and unnecessary hospitalizations that resulted since implementing TripleCare across multiple facilities. With TripleCare, Ocean Healthcare reported an increasing number of treat-in-place incidences, thereby earning it placement in these awards. The recognition was based on results for three Ocean Healthcare facilities over approximately an eight-month period.
TripleCare’s virtual physician-based telemedicine services are now utilized at four Ocean Healthcare facilities during times when the facility physicians are not on site, such as overnight, during the weekends and on holidays. This is typically when many hospital transfers occur. During these times, TripleCare’s network of highly trained physicians perform virtual bedside visits, treating patients in place, using advanced technology, coupled with assistance from the facility’s experienced, on-site nurses. TripleCare’s virtual services make it possible for its physicians to differentiate between those patients who can be treated in place at the local facilities versus ones requiring a hospital transfer.
“We are honored that TripleCare and Ocean Healthcare were recognized for the ways in which we are closely collaborating to improve care, lower hospitalizations as well as readmissions and increase incidence rates for treating in place. It is for these reasons that judges in the McKnight’s Excellence in Technology Awards program acknowledged the results Ocean Healthcare is realizing using TripleCare’s technology and physician network,” explained TripleCare Chief Executive Officer Dr. Mary Jo Gorman.
“We are pleased to help Ocean Healthcare improve patient outcomes cost effectively while ensuring their residents remain comfortable and cared for where they live,” she said.
