TripleCare Strengthens Partnership with Mission Health by Introducing Telemedicine Services at Meadowbrook Health and Rehab in Tucker, Georgia
Company Enters New State, Bringing Total Number of States it Serves to 13
NEW YORK & TUCKER, Ga. October 30, 2018 –(BUSINESS WIRE)–TripleCare, a national provider of telemedicine-based healthcare services to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), announced today it has introduced its telemedicine services at Meadowbrook Health and Rehab, a Mission Health managed community, located in Tucker, Ga., an Atlanta suburb. This marks the second Mission Health community to offer TripleCare’s services as well as the Company’s entry into Georgia. With this relationship expansion with Mission, TripleCare now offers its distinctive physician-based telemedicine platform in 13 states, and Meadowbrook Health and Rehab is the only facility in Georgia offering these services.
Meadowbrook Health and Rehab is a 144-bed skilled nursing facility with an extensive offering, including short-stay rehab and nursing care. Its robust services span a broad range of options, such as short-stay and transitional care, including orthopedic care, cardiac management, pulmonary management, wound care management and intravenous therapy; rehabilitation services encompassing physical, occupational and speech therapies; and, long-term care in the areas of respite, hospice and memory care.
At Meadowbrook Health and Rehab, TripleCare is bringing physician care to patients’ bedsides, virtually. TripleCare’s network of doctors, along with assistance from Meadowbrook Health and Rehab’s clinical team, connect to patients using advanced telemedicine at times when the facility’s physicians are not on site, such as overnight, during the weekends and on holidays. By offering physician accessibility and support during these times, and bringing treat-in-place capabilities to Meadowbrook Health and Rehab, TripleCare’s services will aid in reducing unnecessary hospital transfers. TripleCare’s virtual services make it possible for its physicians to determine residents’ conditions in real-time, and differentiate between those that can be treated on-site versus those requiring a hospital transfer. This protocol complements the diverse clinical services offered by Meadowbrook Health and Rehab and allows the facility to provide patients around-the-clock care by physicians.
“Mission Health is adding a second location based on the successes realized to date at its North Ridge Health and Rehab in Minneapolis, which launched just a few months ago. Together, TripleCare and Mission Health are reducing hospital readmissions and improving patient care. The addition of services at Meadowbrook Health and Rehab further expands the TripleCare network, as we are now serving facilities in 13 states. As telemedicine gains greater acceptance throughout the post-acute care sector, it continues to prove advantageous to patients, facilities and their clinical teams, as evidenced by our partnership with Mission Health,” explained Dr. Mary Jo Gorman, TripleCare’s chief executive officer.
Fred Youngman, LNHA, administrator at Meadowbrook Health and Rehab, added: “We are pleased to further distinguish our facility through the addition of advanced telemedicine services as we become the first one in Georgia to implement TripleCare’s telemedicine platform. Meadowbrook Health and Rehab already boasts one of the broadest clinical offerings in the area, and as the first facility in this community to introduce telemedicine, we are ensuring our residents have 24×7 access to care. This will allow them to be treated right where they live and avoid being transferred to the hospital. TripleCare’s services will help us enhance the experience for our residents while also improving the outcomes our facility achieves. We are confident that adding telemedicine to our offering will help Meadowbrook Health and Rehab become the facility of choice in Tucker and the surrounding communities we serve.”
